يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة حروب الجيل السادس من حيث الخصائص والاهداف وما يميزها عن حروب الجيل الخامس ودورها في الاستراتيجية الامريكية، اذ يتناول البحث مفهوم الحرب بالانابه، وأهميتها في رسم السياسات العامة ، وتأثيره على القرارات السياسية، الاقتصادية، والعسكرية. كما يحلل كيفية استخدام الولايات المتحدة الامريكية لهذا النهج لمواجهة التحديات وتحقيق أهدافها ومصالحها دون الانخراط المباشر في القتال.
يعتمد البحث على الحرب الروسية الأوكرانية كأنموذج لحرب الجيل السادس، حيث تدعم واشنطن كييف عسكرياً ولوجستياً واستخباراتياً لإضعاف الخصم الروسي دون مشاركة جنود أمريكيين بشكل مباشر. وقد ساهمت التقنيات الرقمية والفضاء السيبراني والطائرات المسيّرة في تعزيز قدرة الأطراف الوكيلة على العمل بكفاءة، ويستخلص دروسًا يمكن الاستفادة منها في معرفة تطور العقيدة العسكرية الأمريكية نحو حروب غير متماثلة. أخيراً، يقدم البحث توصيات خاصة فيما يتعلق بأدوات الحرب غير المباشرة، بما في ذلك الإعلام والحرب السيبرانية، وتضمين ذلك في استراتيجيات الأمن القومي.
