Professor Dr. Diraa Hammad Abd

Prof. Dr. Diraa Hammad Abed is a Professor of Private Law at the University of Fallujah, Iraq, where he teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate programs and previously chaired the University's Central Academic Promotions Committee. He has a distinguished academic and legal career spanning several institutions; he formerly served as the Head of the Private Law Department and Chairman of the Academic Promotions Committee at the Faculty of Law, Al-Iraqia University, alongside lecturing at the University of Anbar and various private colleges. Holding a Ph.D. in Private Law, Prof. Abed brings extensive international judicial and advisory experience, having practiced law before the Supreme Court of the Sultanate of Oman for four years in civil, commercial, and labor disputes. He also served as a legal consultant for Haskoning UK, providing strategic legal consultations to the Omani Ministry of Transport and Communications. He has a prolific publication record, including several foundational textbooks (such as Sources of Obligation, Rules of Obligation, and Original and Ancillary Real Rights, as well as a three-volume commentary on judicial rulings) and numerous peer-reviewed papers in regional journals specializing in intellectual property, nanotechnology, and e-commerce laws. Additionally, he has supervised and examined a vast number of Ph.D. dissertations and Master's theses across Iraqi universities.
