Under President Vladimir Putin’s leadership, Russian foreign policy has undergone significant changes, characterized by the strong reemergence of the Russian Federation as a central and influential player on the global stage, with a firm emphasis on securing Russia’s national security. The core focus of this research lies in studying President Putin’s political behavior and analyzing its impact on the trajectory of the Russia-Ukraine war. The importance of this research is underscored by its exploration of Putin’s political actions, considering him one of the key decision-makers globally, and his role in shaping Russian foreign policy. The study concludes that Putin is among the most influential figures on the international scene due to his decisive role in formulating Russian policy and steering it towards the enhancement of Russian identity and the preservation of regional influence. This is evident in his efforts to restore Russia’s traditional power, reminiscent of the Tsarist era. Under Putin’s leadership, Russian policies have led to rising tensions with Western countries, resulting in the imposition of economic sanctions, the deterioration of diplomatic relations between the two sides, and the complicating of the international landscape. The research also highlights a range of potential scenarios that various parties might reach under the current circumstances.
