The right of peoples to self- determination (The Palestinian people as a model)

Abstract

The right of people to self-determination is one of the established principles of international human rights law. This stems from the importance of this right, without which many countries would not have been able to achieve liberation And independence, because achieving it is a basic condition for ensuring actual respect for individual human rights, especially the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, the violations to which they are exposed have become anti-issues For the era, the aforementioned right has taken up a large space in many international agreements, as it was stipulated for the first time in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights of 1966, as well as the International Covenant on Human Rights The Economic, Social and Cultural Charter of 1966 did not stop there, as regional agreements followed the same path in order to guarantee the right of peoples to self-determination, especially the Palestinian people, such as the African Charter The 1981 Convention on Human and Peoples’ Rights and the 2004 Arab Charter on Human Rights affirmed the right to permanent sovereignty over peoples’ natural resources and their right to self-determination, as well as other agreements that addressed this right.
