The impact of the phenomenon of extremism and terrorism on the structure of the Iraqi state

The study deals with the concept of terrorism and extremism and their impact on countries, focusing on the Iraqi situation. Terrorism is defined as the use of violence to achieve political or social goals, often targeting civilians to cause chaos and destabilize security. Extremism refers to the adoption of radical ideas that can lead to violence. The effects of these phenomena are manifested in multiple areas, including security effects that lead to loss of life and destruction of property, and economic effects represented by the decline in tourism and increased security costs. The research also deals with how terrorism and extremism affect the structure of the state, as terrorist attacks show the dysfunction they inflict on the structure of the state, which negatively affects its sovereignty and public confidence in its government. Terrorism is also considered an alternative to conventional wars, in which terrorist groups pursue political interests by destabilizing power. The study highlights the importance of strengthening security agencies to counter terrorist threats, and developing comprehensive strategies that include security, social and cultural aspects.
